Alliance for Peaceful and Resilient Pastoral Communities has made a significant and lasting impact across the regions we serve, particularly in Wajir and other pastoral areas. Through our diverse programs—ranging from livestock and agriculture support, health and WASH, gender-based violence prevention, conflict resolution and peacebuilding, climate resilience and environmental management, and education and capacity building—we are driving sustainable development and enhancing the quality of life for vulnerable communities.

We are committed to creating tangible, long-lasting improvements in the lives of the communities we serve.
key areas of impact
Improved Agricultural Productivity
By introducing climate-smart farming techniques, drought-resistant crops, and sustainable livestock practices, farmers and pastoralists have seen increased yields, more efficient use of resources, and higher income levels.
Improved Health and Hygiene
Our Health and WASH programs have provided access to safe drinking water, sanitation facilities, and health education, resulting in a decrease in waterborne diseases and improved public health outcomes.
Increased Awareness and Prevention of GBV
We’ve raised awareness about gender-based violence through community education and advocacy campaigns. Our programs have trained local leaders, youth, and community groups to recognize and respond to GBV, significantly reducing its incidence in target areas.
Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding
Our conflict resolution programs have facilitated dialogue and mediation between communities and tribal groups in conflict-affected areas, leading to peace agreements and a reduction in violent incidents. We’ve trained community leaders and youth mediators in peacebuilding techniques.
Improved Access to Education
We’ve improved access to education for children and youth, particularly girls and those in marginalized communities, by supporting school infrastructure, providing scholarships, and offering school supplies. As a result, school enrollment rates and graduation rates have increased.
Increased Awareness and Action on Climate Change
Through our climate resilience training and community-based disaster risk management programs, we’ve raised awareness about the impacts of climate change and encouraged communities to implement sustainable environmental practices, such as water conservation, tree planting, and sustainable farming techniques.
